Sprucing up my Pinterest account!

One of my goals this year is to revamp and spruce up my Pinterest account!  For this reason, I joined a TPT Pinterest Group on Facebook, which has been very helpful because I have already learned so much!! It was in this group that I first heard about making tall pins to promote your products on Pinterest.  This new information led me to do some research on how to make a long pin.  I knew that I wanted to use PowerPoint to make my long pin because it is the program I use the most to make all my products and I feel more confident with it.  In my research, I found a video by the Camping Teacher on how to make long pins. It is a little over 9 minutes long and I believe is one of the most simple videos to follow to make a long pin on PPT.  She even shows you how to upload your long pin to Pinterest and add a direct link to your TPT store!
I am excited to share this video with you all!  Click on the picture below to watch the video!

In addition to this awesome video, I found some of the secrets the most successful pinners use at the happyteacherhappykid blog.  I'm sure there are a lot more tips, but for a beginner like me, this is a lot to start with.  I found that although this is a lot of information, it is very simple and doable, which I love because that it's what I am looking for.  Simple and doable so that I reach my goal for this year!!
Here's a list of the six simple things I learned:
1. Research and follow pinners who are NOT Teachers Pay Teachers Seller.
2. Save time by highlighting the text you want to include in your pin description BEFORE clicking the pin (save) it button.
3. Think about what the teacher would type into the search box on Pinterest and use these words in your pin description.  Do ADD a description to your pin!!
4. Research on Pin Groupie (or another method that you know of) to find boards you are interested in.
5. Pins with an aspect ration of 2:3 get 60% more repins than any other size pins (this includes the popular tall pins! :()
6. If you have a product pin with zero repins and zero likes delete it and create a more engaging pin for that product.

Click on the photo below to get all details on each of the six suggestions above!!

Follow my blog to follow me on this revamping journey!
I hope you can find this information as useful as it was for me.

Happy Sprucing!!
