Teacher Week: 5 fun facts about me!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be linking up with the ladies of Blog Hopppin' for Teacher Week 2015! This is my first one ever!  Make sure to stop by my blog throughout the week to hear about me, see my classroom, and get some teaching ideas!

I have two wonderful daughters! A 15 and a 20 year old.  My 20 year old is serving a full time mission for 18 months in the Caribbean, specifically in the Dominican Republic, Curacao, and Aruba!  She is my first baby.  I miss her so much!
I love dressing up for my school's Halloween parade.  Last year, I dressed up as Junie B. Jones. I think this has been my favorite costume.  I was unrecognizable! Even my students had a hard time
recognizing who I was since I hadn't told them who I was going to be.  We had a wonderful time.
My family and I went to Machu Picchu, Peru last year for the first time ever!! We had a great time visiting and learning about the culture.  This was our first family trip outside the country in a long time!  We spent eight days in Cusco and traveled to other parts of the country the rest of our time there.  I loved it!
Here's my younger daughter dancing in Cusco!

I just love teaching art.  I began teaching art many years ago.  I was an art teacher for grades K-6 for one year, and that has been one of my favorite years in my years of teaching.  Most of my ideas came from Deep Space Sparkle, a great art website for teachers.  There's something about art that brings out the creativity and sense of satisfaction in each child. I love how their confidence grows when they finish an art project!
Anyone that knows me really well, knows that I am CRAZY about shoes!  Especially fancy shoes.  My shoe size is 4 1/2 so as you can imagine I have a hard time finding fancy, grown-up looking shoes. But I have managed to acquire quite a collection over a 20 year span!!
