I LOVE it when my students are engaged in learning with minimal supervision! My students love using this sight words activity! I have added these READ IT, BUILD IT, WRITE IT mats to my literary centers so that my students can practice reading, building, and writing sight or spelling words. These mats are a HIT! Especially because I switch them through out the year depending on the nearby holiday or month. My kiddos are always trying to guess what the cards will look like the following month! There are enough mats for the entire school year and each month has 3 to 4 choices. Your kids will love these!
These mats are a great addition to any Word Work Center or Guided Reading. Students can use with sight words flashcards as well as spelling words; build the word with letter tiles, magnetic letters, etc. Then they write the sight word/spelling word on a laminated mat. If laminating is not available you can stick these templates in sheet protectors instead like I do! Click on the picture below to see it in my TPT store.
