I started teaching narrative writing! And let me tell you, writing isn't easy for me to teach. I do lots of modeling and guided practice before I send my kiddos to try it on their own. I created transition words posters to display on the wall and leave all year. I taught, modeled, and discussed the cards on several occasions. I will leave the individual cards on wall. These words help students connect ideas, sentence flow and guide them as they write. I displayed these words last year during our narrative writing unit and they were so helpful for my students. In the packet, I’ve included two versions, large posters to display on a wall and small cards to use on a pocket chart. I've also included bookmarks with additional words and phrases to print, laminate for durability to give to your students. I print one for each student so that they can use it during their writing. Head on to my TPT store to see this product.
